Ugh, Too many papers and not enough time.

Was looking at classes for next year etc, and discovered if I shoot myself in the foot and have a rediculous Fall semester, by next May I will only be short 4 credits. But we are talking a rediculous fall semester. I talked to my mom about it today, and I've decided to take a normal semester in the Fall and the Spring and then have an extra Fall semester which means I can get the second minor that I had wanted but didnt have time for. Now, to convince my dad. Blah. Whatever.

Still no news on the Alex thing, which is really weird. Just arrest him and throw him in jail already.

Mom sent Brian and I a box of random cookies that were left over from the bake sale at the fashion show. As in, I now have 8 million cookies in baggies in a bigger bag in a cardboard box. Don't know why i felt compared to share that, but it is very unusual for my mom to send me sugary stuff because she knows I dont eat it. Once again, whatever.

On saturday I planted a bunch of seeds in this greenhouse thingy I bought and I already have sprouts! This excites me.

i suppose i should do an actual update since i haven't in pretty much forever... I just have nothing to say! I feel like the only time i post here is when there is some serious drama in my life, and i haven't had any in quite sometime with the exception of the entire sketchy Alex thing.
For those of you that no longer (or never did) attend UMaine, the most recent news in that saga is that the safe from Lissus (a local pizza shop, and when i say local, its a 2 minute walk from my apartment)) showed up in my basement the day after it was registered as missing. The cops came, took prints, and *insert sarcasm here* lo and behold, the prints matched up with sketchy Alex's *end sarcasm*. "Someone" had broken into Lissus' , stolen the safe, and brought it to our open-access basement to break it open with a fire extinguisher/anything he could find in the basement. So the cops came and questioned Brian and I and I seriously hope this kid goes to jail for a very long time. Because if he doesn't, Brian and I might just very well make sure someone finds him at the bottom of the Stillwater River. He owes Brian around $1,000 and we've pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that hes never getting it back. The kid is such a fuckup! All this happens about 2 weeks after he gets arrested (see my previous entry) and Brian bails him out of jail. ARGH

On a happier note, I have a new baby cousin!!!!!!!! YAY! She was born this morning at 8:20 and her name is Claire Estelle. HOW CUTE! I can't wait to see her! I have no idea when that will happen, but I CANT WAIT! :D

Man wears out his welcome, and gets busted to boot

ORONO - On Feb. 25 at approximately 10:23 a.m. A man wanted on an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines was arrested when the tenant of the apartment where he was staying wanted him out.

Alexander Ouellette, 21, of Bradford, had been staying at the apartment for a couple of weeks when he was asked to move out after the tenant suspected Ouellette took his wallet.

When police arrived, Ouellette was found sleeping in the apartment and he was arrested for the outstanding warrant.

During a search, a debit/credit card was reportedly found in his pocket and Ouellette claimed it belonged to him. The tenant later called police to report the missing card, and after questioning Ouellette again, he admitted to taking the wallet but couldn’t remember it as he had been drinking, according to police.

In addition to the outstanding warrant, Ouellette was charged with falsifying physical evidence and theft and taken to Penobscot County Jail.

Children of Men

Jan. 5th, 2007 | 10:28 pm

Why do you need to see this movie?

Because it is entirely plausible. There are already diseases that target single species of animals (bird flu, mad cow disease). It is entirely possible that the diseases will mutate and affect the reproductive system, or the nervous system etc. This movie directly targets our generation. If something like this was to happen, it would be our lifetime. I went to see it tonight, and I was the youngest person in the theater. That's horrendous! The age group that was most prevalent was the 50-60's. Thats the group that is no longer having children. They aren't in charge of the future anymore.

I give it 5 stars. Definitely one of the top movies of our time

3 couples i know of have gotten engaged in the last 2 weeks. This is getting rediculous. Cute though. I was witness to a proposal last night and it was beautiful. Funny thing was, Ashleigh, Kelly and I were talking about weddings and the like and then 10 minutes later Aaron was down on one knee proposing to Kelly.

Its starting to get to the hard part of the year again. Stupid seasonal depression. This year is better than the past 2 have been however. Brian makes me happy, and that helps, especially right now.

Yesterday was my parents 25th wedding Anniversary. Weird.

I am excited for this weekend. Alayna's party and then also Nick's party on friday. Charity Ball on Saturday in Lewiston which means i get to get all dressed up in my prom dress again. Yay.

I will be glad for Thanksgiving. Home. Almost the end of the semester. good food.

My cholesterol is 414. Not good. And that's even with eating corrrectly. Damn genetics.

Insulin levels have gotten better however. But they still put me on medication again. Damn genetics.

I miss my Ashleigh. We have to hang out soooon. This summer was fun.

Work has been boring this year. Between Colleen getting hurt and then Connie's mother dying i havent really been doing anything for the textbook department, which is where I am supposed to be working. What do you say when your Boss' mother dies?

I have had an urge to read Haunted again. Dont know why. Maybe just because i havent read anything by chucky p in awhile. Maybe because I read it at this time last year. I dont know.

My brother fractured his wrist. He has a cast on his right arm up to his elbow. Thats bad news. Thats his throwing hand. No good.

I got new glasses. They are pink. I love them.

I am thoroughly excited for Guster in November and Brand New in December. Yay!

For those that care

Oct. 13th, 2006 | 06:10 pm

Last night was Take Back the Night and it went amazingly. The Bangor Daily covered it as well as the maine campus (who cares :P) We had around 150-175 people. Alot of people that i didnt expect to see either. A good variety of sororities and fraternities showed up. Not as many peopl got up to speak about their own experiences, but this year i started the speak out and from my experience last year, I was much more collected and organized with my speaking than I was last year. Dr Dana was there, along with Congressman Mike Michaud and Emily Cain. I honestly think that this year was more effective than last years. As my friend Rachel said "there was a really good vibe this year." And there was. Almost everyone that attended the rally also went on the Candlelight March and it was amazing to see that many people holding a candle for something that is so important. And it was nice to know that I had a hand in that.

I'm off to find a Bangor Daily, because I haven't read it yet. :)

Love actually IS all around...

Sep. 15th, 2006 | 09:33 pm
mood: thankful thankful

So, my mom just called me to tell me something she's known for awhile, but kept forgetting to tell me.

My coach for my entire childhood has Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Essentially what it does is that the body's nerves degenerate, meaning they stop receiving the messages from the brain. This causes the organs and muscles to harden and eventually they body becomes paralyzed. Eventually the person can no longer breathe on their own and eventually dies.

Paul was diagnosed 9 months ago. He doesn't have much longer to live. This sucks. The effect that he has had on so many kids in Hamden is amazing. Whether he was their soccer coach or in my case my softball and basketball coach, he has always been involved with children's athletics in Hamden. This guy taught me about how to play the game but more importantly be a team player. I know this sounds cliche, but thats important on and off the court/field/whatever. He is such an amazing guy. And to think of everything that he has been around for.... everything in his kids lives...never missing a game or recital, but now he may not even make it to Thanksgiving? He wont be around to see Karen graduate college, wont be there to see what his son does his first few years out of college.

Something like this makes you appreciate your parents alot more. To know that 9 months down the line they may be unable to move, unable to breathe on their own. I mean, today, I must have called my father 10 times, to ask him about my car, or to update him on what was going on with my car. I took it for granted that he would be there to pick up the phone when I needed him. Although, everytime I hung up with him, I said I love you. I came to a realization once I moved away to college... whenever i hang up with someone I care about, I say I love you... you never know when it might be the last thing you say to them, or if its the last thing they say to you.

The point of this post?

Love freely, love often. Love everyone you can. You never know when you wont have the chance anymore....

You Are 25% Left Brained, 75% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

Im not dead i swear. Life has just been crazy hectic.

Between Gamma Sig, Take Back the Night, insanity at the house, family troubles, and doctors, ive been a stressed out girl.

Im moving into a 1 bedroom next year. Hopefully one over on Pine St in Orono. Im just not cut out for living with 4 girls. Girls are psycho. Brian will be living with me. It just makes sense. He practically lives with me now anyways :)

He came home with me for Easter, my parents loved him to pieces. This ones a keeper :)

I may have to have surgery, more about that later once i go to the doctors.

Its Activation time with Gamma Sig... keeping me busy with phone calls, emails, and crisises (i dont think thats a word, but im too tired to figure it out). Some of the busy is good, some of the busy is bad. Ive learned alot though this semester and the fall will definitely go alot smoother, i promise. Easter weekend and spring break really fuck with the spring schedule.

Kickin Flicks is also keeping me busy. We want to switch companies becase Swank is totally ripping us off... buuut the other companies dont have as good a selection. Screwed either way.

more later
